PAGE PATERSON - M.Ac., L.Ac. #001
Page Paterson has been practicing Acupuncture in North Carolina since 1989. She received her training and a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland in June of that year. After graduation, she returned to NC and opened her practice in Wilmington, as well as joining an established practice in Chapel Hill, N.C. After 5 years of commuting, her Wilmington practice was strong enough to become full time and she sold her Chapel Hill practice.
Page has also completed an intensive 2-year certification course in Chinese herbs from The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Hallandale, Florida. Prior to her acupuncture studies, she was a licensed massage therapist for 15 years and has training in cranio-sacral therapy, sacred geometry, and essential oils.
In 1989, acupuncture was new to N.C., and there was much to be done to educate the community about acupuncture's ancient history and its benefits. From 1991-1992, Page was vice president of the Acupuncture Association of North Carolina and 1992-1993 served as president. During this time the association was working hard to get acupuncture licensed in N.C. In 1994, acupuncture became licensed in N.C., and Page was appointed to the N.C. Acupuncture Licensing Board and served a 2-year term. The N.C. Acupuncture Licensing Board granted its first 6 licenses to the board members in 1994 and Page became licensed, #001.
